Asia in Paris in the late 19th century

Alfred Perret creates in 1879 in Paris a store specialized in the making of luxious bamboo furniture and Japanese objects importated for a very rich Parisian clientele. The house then also specialized in the making of sculpted wood furnishing inspired by the Far-East takes the name of  “Maison des Bambous in the early 1890’s.
